The Martha’s Vineyard Food & Wine Festival (MVF&WF) has partnered with a local company to produce the eighth annual event, which is scheduled for Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 15 to 18. This year’s theme is “A celebration of sea, farm and vine.”
According to a press release, more than 2,000 food and wine enthusiasts are expected to converge on the Island for the four-day feast that is “rooted in the Island’s rich traditions of farming and fishing.”
The festival features local culinary talent, producers, and ingredients, along with selected celebrity chefs, gastronomic educators, and vintners from around the world.
The new producers, Nevette Previd and Amy Foster Devore, are both Islanders. Ms. Previd has launched events that include the Martha’s Vineyard International Film Festival, and serves as the director of the annual Living Local Harvest Festival. Ms. Devore spent 21 years at Bon Appetit magazine as associate publisher and executive director of brand and business development.
The MVF&WF was founded by the Edgartown Board of Trade in 2007 with the goal of boosting off-season tourism to the Island. Proceeds benefit Island charities such as Island Grown Schools and the Agricultural Society’s Farmers Program.
The MVTimes has been named as the sole local media sponsor of the MVF&WF for a second year.
