Stop and Shop supports local hunger relief

Stop and Shop Store Manager Mary McEvoy recently presented checks from the company’s Food for Friends fundraising program to Leslie Clapp from the Martha’s Vineyard Center For Living.

According to a press release, Stop and Shop’s Food For Friends Program supports local hunger-relief organizations in the communities it serves. Customers, associates, and partners support the program, and 100 percent of the funds raised go directly to community food pantries and regional food banks. In 2014, Stop and Shop’s 213 New England stores raised just over a million dollars through the Food for Friends program.
