IWYC offers specialized training for Island youth workers

The Island Wide Youth Collaborative (IWYC), whose partners include the Youth Task Force, YMCA of Martha’s Vineyard, Martha’s Vineyard schools, the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, and Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, is offering opportunities for specialized training for Island educators, coaches, providers, and others who work with youth, adolescents, and young adults with behavioral health needs.

The mission of the IWYC is to develop and provide an Island-wide integrated system of behavioral health care that is comprised of local providers and maintains on-Island treatment options for our youth, young adults, and their families, according to a press release.

Island clinicians are invited to apply for the first IWYC-sponsored opportunity, the Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s weekend seminar on July 17–19 at the Harbor View Hotel. Sessions include Meditation and Mindfulness in Clinical Practice, Psychopharmacology 2015, New Innovations for the Treatment of ADHD, and Psychological Brain Health. The IWYC will be offering additional trainings and workshops both on and off the Island in the upcoming months. Continually updated information and applications for current trainings are available at mvcommunityservices.com/iwyc.
