The Vineyard Conservation Society, with support from selectmen, Boards of Health, and Conservation Commissions in each Island town have put an article on the 2016 Town Meeting warrants proposing the ban of single-use plastic checkout bags Island-wide.
The first public information session will be Wednesday. February 3 at 6 pm at the West Tisbury Library. Similar meetings will also be held on February 10 at 6 pm at the Tisbury Senior Center, on February 16 at 6 pm at the Oak Bluffs Library and in Edgartown in March at a date and time to be announced.
