To the Editor:
We know the Ag Fair is everyone’s favorite event, ours included, but the Agricultural Society does so much more than just the annual fair.
The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society offers farmer grants, college scholarships, and support for the Farmer Apprentice Program, and is the home of the MVAS Program Alliance.
Check out all we do and have to offer at our new website: marthasvineyardagriculturalsociety.org.
The new site offers a fresh, modern look, updated content, responsive design, and ease of navigation.
The society is also pleased to announce that we are continuing our grant program this year. Island farmers who are dedicated to improving the quality of life and furthering sustainability of the Island’s agricultural community are eligible to apply. Special consideration will be given to innovative approaches to needs or problems that are unable to receive funding through traditional sources.
Interested individuals or organizations are invited to submit a concise proposal describing a specific project, its potential benefits, budgetary requirements, and amount requested. Forms can be found on our website under resources/grants and scholarships. Please call Eleanor Neubert at 508-693-4343 with questions. The deadline for proposals is Feb. 29.
