To the Editor:
I read about the erosion of Harthaven beach in “Coastal News Today.” I certainly don’t know all of the particulars due to where I live, but I do know this: If there is sand in the ocean wave, attenuating devices can move that sand back onto the beach at a very reasonable cost.
We have erosion problems here in Scituate and have been in contact with Living Shoreline Solutions. They have designed an artificial reef that not only knocks down high and damaging waves but when there is sand in the ocean, will renourish a beach. It might be a good idea for the town officials or citizens to contact this company. They might have a solution. Their website is Livingshorelinesolutions.com.
