On May 19 , the final restoration of the Owen Park flagpole, a traditional ship’s mast, was completed, and the pole was raised from the ground with ropes and pulleys. According to a press release, the raising and rigging of the flagpole was done by Miles Thurlow and John Anderson.

The topmast was removed last fall for much-needed repairs. Repairs were scheduled to be completed in time for Memorial Day ceremonies. This is part of an ongoing project to improve Owen Park.
