Walk the rock at Saturday’s cross-Island hike

The 24th annual cross-Island hike will take place this Saturday, June 4, at 8 am. The route will begin at the Pecoy Point Preserve in Oak Bluffs and, via Chappaquiddick Island, end 21 miles later at the left fork of South Beach in Edgartown (at approximately 4 pm). The event is part of the Land Bank’s observation of National Trails Day. Participants may elect to for the full hike or a portion, but should wear sturdy shoes, bring sunscreen (or rain gear), insect repellent, and sufficient water.
