Brian Welch of Oak Bluffs is the 2016 Klay for Kids champ.

Contractor Brian Welch of Oak Bluffs broke 49 of 50 targets on the Martha’s Vineyard Rod and Gun Club skeet range to win the Klays for Kids fundraiser. The victory was doubly sweet because Brian shot the near double-string with his new Browning Citori over-under shotgun.

Ray Sylvia took second place (48) and Harold Lawry third (46).

Each participant shot a minimum of two rounds of 25 targets, but could shoot as many additional rounds as he or she wanted. The goal was for the shooters to put their two best rounds of 25 targets together for the highest score. Each participant paid from 25 cents per miss to $1 per missed target, depending on the shooter’s skill level.
