Offshore Ale has announced three fundraisers for the month of December. According to a press release, on Dec. 7 they will be hosting a fundraiser for Amy Heflin, Island resident and longtime restaurant server who underwent open-heart surgery. They are hoping to raise funds to assist with the medical expenses and also the several months of recovery time, during which Amy will not be able to work. One hundred percent of the food profits for the day will be donated to Amy, in addition to proceeds of a silent auction and other fundraising games. The day starts with breakfast, and Amy’s husband, Jeff Heflin, breakfast chef from the Black Dog, will be cooking with the Offshore crew. Breakfast will run from 7:30 to 10 am. The restaurant will reopen for dinner at 4 pm, with some of Amy’s favorite local musicians.
On Dec. 14, Offshore is hosting a Dine to Donate event to support the Vineyard Committee on Hunger’s “Family to Family” program. For every $25 raised, a holiday meal will be provided to an Island family.
And for the month of December, Offshore will run a “Pay it Forward” program. When guests visit the restaurant, they can enter the name and contact information of someone they would like Offshore to “pass on” a free dinner for two. Once a week a name will be drawn, and the winner will receive a gift certificate for $75.
