"This pastel painting, 'Silent Night,' reflects what for me is the magical enchantment of our Island during Yuletide, when we gather as a community to celebrate what unites us." —Anna Finnerty

When we asked Islanders to send in artwork centered around “What Island Holidays mean to me” for this year’s Island Holidays cover, we were overwhelmed with beautiful artwork and warm, fuzzy sentiments. From soaring paper sledders and sea glass Christmas trees to Santa rowing in a pastel harbor and a festive sheep, each submission filled us with winter cheer. Congratulations to our winner, Anna Finnerty, who said of her serene Edgartown scene, “This pastel painting reflects what for me is the magical enchantment of our Island during Yuletide, when we gather as a community to celebrate what unites us.” We couldn’t agree more.

We would like to thank all our local artists who submitted their work: Alice Goyert, Nicole Jackson, Ann Lisanti, Angela Prout, Barbara Reynolds, Kasha Ritter, and Danielle Zerbonne.
