A new Vineyard-based social justice group, the Martha’s Vineyard Social Justice Leadership Foundation (MVSJLF), will hold a forum on post-election information and action on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The group will address immigration laws and potential risks to the immigrant community on Martha’s Vineyard, and explore how the Island can support and protect local immigrant families. Island immigration attorney Rebecca McCarthy will moderate a panel discussion with ACLU Boston attorney Adriana Lafaille, Vineyard businessman Elio Silva, Edgartown attorney Mary Costello, and Laurie Silber of the We Stand Together campaign. The discussion will be held in the Community Room at the Edgartown library on Jan. 10, from 6 to 8 pm. Portuguese translation will be available.
