Richard Kane named first vice president at Rockland Bank


Rockland Trust has announced the appointment of Richard Kane to first vice president and lending center manager for Falmouth and Martha’s Vineyard. According to a press release, Mr. Kane has more than 18 years of banking experience, and will lead Rockland’s commercial lending activities on the Island and in the Falmouth market. With offices in Edgartown and Falmouth, he will focus on developing commercial lending opportunities and supporting clients in accomplishing their business goals.

“With his deep experience and strong local connections, Rich will be a valuable asset to our commercial lending team,” said ‎Brian Griffin, senior vice president and regional manager of commercial banking for Rockland Trust on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. “We’re excited to have him on board, and we’re looking forward to working with him to help serve the business communities on Martha’s Vineyard and in Falmouth.”

Most recently, Mr. Kane was senior credit officer at Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, where he managed commercial loan portfolios, advised on commercial credit risk, and supervised various aspects of regulatory compliance. Prior to his position at Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, Mr. Kane served as a credit officer at Webster Financial Corp., and a loan review manager at First International Bancorp.

Mr. Kane is a member of the Risk Management Association. He received a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Ithaca College, and is a graduate of the Prochnow Institute Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
