MVRHS baseball rolls over Madison Park

Martha’s Vineyard banged out 14 hits en route to a 13-2 victory over the Madison Park Cardinals, Monday in Boston. The Vineyarders, who had their seven-game winning streak halted by Bourne on Sunday, improved to 8-5.

James Sashin hit an inside-the-park homer, added two singles, and stole a base. Sam Bresnick was 3-4, with three singles and two stolen bases. Chris Mayhew added two hits and two RBIs. Jonas Lukowitz and Theo Gallagher each tripled and knocked in two runs.

Vineyard starter Elias Fhagen-Smith earned the win, pitching four innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs, while striking out five and walking one. He also singled and added two RBIs. Jack Sierputoski came on in relief and pitched three perfect innings to seal the win.
