To the Editor:
I was thrilled and honored to be featured in last week’s Calendar section of The MV Times in an article by Gwyn McAllister titled “Female Faces.”
As I was one of the few men showing in this Featherstone exhibition about women, I want to show my solidarity by donating 100 percent of my portion of any sales from the show to an important but little-known Island organization called Connect to End Violence. Connect to End Violence is a domestic violence and rape crisis center providing services to individuals on Martha’s Vineyard since 1981; all services are free and confidential. The mission of Connect to End Violence is to reduce domestic and sexual violence on Martha’s Vineyard by changing social norms through education, advocacy, and community mobilization, and providing crisis intervention services including advocacy, counseling, and support services for victims.
