Grant Pertile of Edgartown and his Bryant University tennis team became the first program in school history to win five consecutive Northeast Conference (NEC) championship titles. The Bulldogs pulled off the feat last weekend at the Mercer Park Tennis Complex in New Jersey.
Bryant faced several nationally ranked opponents on the way to the title, including Brown, Harvard, Dartmouth, Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Coast Guard Academy.
Pertile finished his freshman season with a 16-5 record with his doubles partner, senior Luke Lorenz. Bryant will play in the NCAA tournament, May 11 to 13.
