Mackenzie Condon wins 400m hurdles at Coaches Invitational

Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School junior Mackenzie Condon won the 400-meter hurdles at the prestigious Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association Invitational meet Saturday at Sharon High School, with a time of 1:04.26. Condon added a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter high hurdles (16.34).

Amber Cuthbert finished fourth in the freshman mile run (5:31.79); Catherine Cherry was 20th in the two-mile (12:03.20), and Paige Pogue was 34th in the shot put (28 feet, 8.5 inches).

In the boys Coaches Invitational at Durfee High School in Fall River, Nate Packer put the shot 43 feet, 2 inches, to place 16th, Owen Atkins finished 12th in the freshman mile (5:00.55), Peter Burke ran 41st in the varsity boys mile (4:46.59), with Owen Porterfield in 49th (4:47.23), and Curtis Fisher was 35th in the javelin (123 feet, 7 inches).
