Hot summer for Windemere

To the Editor:

Summer is over and fall has arrived. The residents of Windemere had a wonderful summer! Trips to the Tabernacle, the Ag Fair, Illumination, Dairy Queen, Mary Poppins, Family Barbecues, and Ice Cream Socials. Topping it all off was a beautiful day of sailing on the Impossible Dream out of Menemsha.

We are getting ready for our fall and winter programs, grooming horses at Misty Meadows, bowling at the Barn, Bowl and Bistro, and swimming at the Y, as well as many in-house programs.

We want to thank all of our volunteers who helped us throughout the summer. Many of our volunteers have left for Florida now, and we are looking for some new volunteers to help with in-house programs, especially Thursdays and Fridays from 10 -12 (you’ll receive a free lunch from the hospital cafeteria!). If you would like to join us, please come in and meet with us, and fill out an application form.

Trust me, you will get back more than you ever imagine, and you will have an amazing time at Windemere!
