The nor’easter didn’t keep the ghosts and ghouls away this weekend, as Islanders dressed up in their best and scariest to enjoy Halloween festivities across the Island. On Saturday, people sought shelter from the storm at the Oak Bluffs library, where the kids’ Halloween party was a howling good time. There were crafts, candy, and even a creepy tunnel set up in the stacks. Halloween in Oak Bluffs, which was postponed to Sunday, was kicked off with a performance from the Era of Good Feelings at Post Office Square, followed by trick-or-treating at local businesses on Circuit Avenue. Trick-or-treating also took place in downtown Edgartown on Sunday. The FARM Institute hosted Barnyard Boo and a Haunted Barn, for those brave enough to visit.
