To the Editor:
The Tisbury High School class of 1958 celebrated its 60th class reunion the 20th of October at the Square Rigger in Edgartown, with nine in attendance.
On Friday the 19th, those in attendance went to the Tisbury Elementary School to plant a floral bush in memory of classmates who passed away this year — Shirley Beaucaire Sullivan and Douglas Look. Principal John Custer of Tisbury School had two young men dig the hole for the plant. We greatly appreciate that. He also gave us a tour of the school, and answered questions. To welcome us, a fourth grade teacher, Merideth Goldthwait, had us come to her room so her students could ask us questions and truly vice versa. Friday evening we met at Oceanview for more fun — walking down 60 years of memory lane.
Saturday evening we met at the Square Rigger again for an enjoyable evening. Guests in attendance were Barsha Levett Tolin, Ron Tolin, Nancy Cronig, Albert Croft, and Judy Mayhew.
To complete the weekend, a buffet was held at a home in Hines Point.
The Black Dog Bakery did a beautiful job on the cake. Thank you to the baker, Laura Beckman.
The class of 1958 plans to meet next year for our 61st class reunion. Thank you all who made us feel so special.
