Survey to understand needs of Islanders with disabilities

The Island Disability Coalition (IDC) has developed a needs-assessment survey to learn more about the needs of Islanders of all ages with disabilities across Martha’s Vineyard, according to a release from the IDC.

The survey can be completed by a family member of a person with a disability, an individual with a disability, school personnel, a service provider for adults with disabilities, or any member of the community.

Beginning on Nov. 26, the survey can be accessed online at or in paper format at Martha’s Vineyard Community Services at 111 Edgartown–Vineyard Haven Road in Oak Bluffs, in both English and Portuguese. The survey closes on Dec. 10 at 5 pm.

“Gathering the perspectives and experiences of all community members will allow us to develop a shared vision on what the lives of people with disabilities could and should look like,” the release states. “This data will allow the IDC to consider immediate changes in services and programs, while also serving as a lens to project future needs.”
