‘Spies: The Secret Showdown Between America and Russia’

On Saturday, Jan. 25, at 3:30 pm, the West Tisbury library will host a book talk with Island author Marc Favreau. According to a press release, Favreau will present his newly released book for young adults titled, “Spies: The Secret Showdown Between America and Russia,” a thrilling account of the Cold War spies and spycraft that changed the course of history. Refreshments served. This event is free and open to the public.

Marc Favreau is an executive editor at the New Press, and a year-round resident of Martha’s Vineyard. He is a co-editor (with Ira Berlin and Steven F. Miller) of “Remembering Slavery: African Americans Talk About Their Personal Experiences of Slavery and Emancipation” and the editor of “A People’s History of World War II: The World’s Most Destructive Conflict, as Told by the People Who Lived Through It,” both published by The New Press. Favreau is the author of “Crash: The Great Depression and the Fall and Rise of America,” a book for young adults published in 2018.
