Tweed Roosevelt offers lecture series

Tweed Roosevelt, great grandson of Theodore Roosevelt, offers a two-part series, “Tweed’s Relatives: Disreputable and Otherwise.” The first, on Wednesday, August 11, is “Eleanor Roosevelt — Adversities and Controversies.” To understand this extraordinary woman, according to a press release from the library, “it is crucial to understand her tragic childhood and marriage, which fundamentally shaped the continuous battles she fought for the underdog.” The second, on Wednesday, Sept. 1, is titled “TR’s Fascinating Relatives — Saints and Sinners.” The community is invited to join Roosevelt for this captivating lecture series at the West Tisbury library.

This series meets in-person on two Wednesday afternoons at 4 pm, August 11 and Sept. 1. Attendance will be limited to 20 people to allow for social distancing. Sign up in advance to reserve your seat by emailing Masks are mandatory for all those attending this free series.
