Island Housing Trust: Watch 'Creating Housing for M.V. Hospital Workers'
Watch our film about repurposing a bed and breakfast and creating rental housing for hospital staff. Our hospital has 150 unfilled jobs. The lack of affordable housing is one of the big reasons. You can help solve our Island’s year-round housing crisis by clicking here and donating now.

Seek out the Island’s tranquil natural beauty
Martha’s Vineyard turns a welcome corner every fall, gradually settling into a gentle rhythm that feels miles away from summer’s hustle and bustle.
Even as the days grow cooler and shorter, there’s plenty to enjoy here in the great outdoors. The Island’s land conservation groups offer a wide range of public events and activities, including the ever-popular fall and winter guided walks. The Events listing on the free TrailsMV app is a great resource for tapping into these off-season activities, and the app also includes suggestions for putting together your own walking and biking routes.
Be mindful of deer-hunting season, however, which runs Oct. 2 – Dec. 30. Some Martha’s Vineyard conservation lands are open to hunters, including the Manuel F. Correllus State Forest and many M.V. Land Bank properties, among others. See detailed information from Trails MV and the All-Island Trails Committee.
