Island Ambiance

Forever I have been attracted to color, texture, and form. My early years were spent designing fibers either by sewing, weaving, or knitting. One of my weaving experiences took me to the Allen Farm in Chilmark, where I wove shawls, scarves, and blankets with natural wool from their sheep herd. I have dyed and felted wool with Eleanor Standwood, and have designed and sold clothing made of the fabric. Then Joan Merry offered me a job helping her with her flourishing wedding flower business, Gossamer. Now that she has retired, I have taken over the reins under the new name of Island Ambiance. Making a wedding fit the Vineyard’s flavor is fun and exciting. I enjoy working with people who have interesting requests, from conventional to stylized, I do it all. It is important to me to know what a bride wants and doesn’t want to that she and her husband get exactly what they want. Please go to my website to enjoy the sampling of pictures in the Wedding Portfolio and call for a free consultation for weddings or any event that could use some Island Ambiance.
