Exciting update from Healthy Aging M.V.: MassDOT comes to town!
MassDOT officials will visit Martha’s Vineyard in partnership with Healthy Aging Martha’s Vineyard (HAMV), the Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA), and the Island Councils on Aging to tour the Island, hear directly from agencies and residents, and better understand the unique transportation challenges facing older adults on-Island.
The May 4 visit will include a town hall meeting where agencies and community members can share needs, barriers, and ideas for improving transportation across the Island. The engagement comes as both HAMV and the VTA have been awarded grant funding to expand and enhance transportation options, particularly for older adults and others with limited access to reliable transit. If you’d like to join the town hall meeting at 1 pm at HAMV, please contact Lauren Bagnall at laurenbagnall@hamv.org to register.
