The ACC Grass Roots 2026 season is officially in the books, and Tournament No. 36 marks our final weekly showdown before the summer league begins.
Bill Russell already secured his first-place trophy weeks ago, but apparently decided that winning the whole thing was not enough. No, Bill showed up this week and stuck it to everyone with a full-blown Grand Salami, winning all six games and skunking one unfortunate player along the way.
As the summer crew continues to sail in, 24 people gathered to play our favorite game!
The results of the night were as follows:
First, Bill Russell with a 13/6 +108 card
Second, Kathy Kinsman with an 11/5 +94 card
Third, Tim Hurlburt with an 11/5 +94 card
Fourth, Collin Evanson with a 10/5 +33 card
Fifth, Bob Fynbo with an 8/4 +69 card
Sixth, Mary Alice Russell with an 8/4 +40 card
There were only two 24-point hands, dealt to Tim Hurlburt and Merrily Fenner. In addition to grabbing third place and a 24-point hand, our own Clemson Tiger band director also snagged the infamous FLUSH CRIB! Five skunks were suffered Wednesday night.
We regularly meet on Wednesdays at the American Legion in Katama; if you like cribbage, please come join us! We have a potluck every week at 5:30 pm, and we start playing at 6 pm SHARP.
