The Martha’s Vineyard Museum will host its weekly live Global Rhythms Summer Concert Series. This music series celebrates the diverse cultural traditions that shape the Island community. Presented in partnership with MVY Radio, the series runs Wednesday evenings from July through August, 5 to 7 pm, in the museum’s Bodman Courtyard.
Each evening invites audiences to experience local favorites and internationally recognized musicians. Global Rhythms offers music as a form of storytelling — connecting sound, place, and cultural identity in an intimate, outdoor setting near Vineyard Haven Harbor.
“Global Rhythms is about more than music — it’s about connection,” said Laurel Redington, director of programming & audience engagement at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. “Having spent much of my life with MVY Radio, this series is especially meaningful to me. This year’s lineup is the strongest we’ve ever had, bringing together artists whose music is rooted in tradition, shaped by experience, and meant to be shared.”
The 2026 lineup opens on July 1 with Misfits of Avalon, whose Celtic-inspired sound blends traditional Irish influences with Island-rooted storytelling. Additional performances include a rare performance from Vineyard favorites Kahoots, the return of acclaimed Latin fusion duo Sol y Canto, and a Latin jazz collaboration featuring Joel Harrison, Stan Strickland, and Friends. The series continues with performances by the KabuJazz Trio featuring Cândida Rose, Allie & Paryss, the Rubin Brothers, Isaac Taylor, and Kemp Harris, offering a wide-ranging exploration of global rhythms, genres, and traditions.
Concerts begin at 5:30 pm. Doors open at 5 pm. General admission is $20 per concert, and admission is free for Gen Z and under (born 1998 or later). A season pass is available for $150, and includes entry to all nine performances, including the Mid-Summer Celebration.
