You’ll notice in this week’s paper approximately 30 coupons for restaurants and eateries that run the gamut from Nicky’s Italian Café’s buy one dinner entrée, get the second 25 percent off, to a free cup of chowder at Menemsha Fish Market.
In the past few weeks, The Times reached out to all Island eating establishments, offering them a free coupon ad for this week’s paper to celebrate spring and jump start the restaurant season. We wish everyone a successful 2010.
While all coupons and discounts are eye-catching, there are a few that stand out even more. The Mansion House and Zephrus’s for example. Order two dinner entrees at Zephrus and get one free week gym membership at the Mansion House. That includes the pool, fitness classes, and the gym.
The Ocean View Restaurant gives you 15 percent off your total check (excluding lobster and prime rib specials), and though the coupon expires April 30, diners have the option to extend the offer.
Farm Neck Café opens its doors for the 2010 season this Friday, offering 50 percent off lunch entrees, not including take-out. Other restaurants with similar deals are The Wharf, offering 10 percent off all food, and the Square Rigger, 20 percent off all entrees.
The Gourmet Café and Bakery, known as Back Door Donuts after 8:30 pm, opens today, April 8 for the season. Get a free small coffee when you buy a muffin or other bakery item. Also get free coffee at Fella’s Takeout when you buy a breakfast sandwich, and at ArtCliff Diner with the purchase of a meal.
Don’t want coffee? Head to Beetlebung, which opened on Friday, April 2, for a free 16 oz. fresh-squeezed Real Lemonade with the purchase of any panini.
If you haven’t tried the selection of Wee Bites at The Newes From America, bring your coupon and get a free Wee Bite with any food purchase Mondays through Fridays.
Blue Canoe, opening April 15, celebrates spring with five entrée items for $10 from April 22 through May 20. Their outdoor deck offers great Vineyard Haven harbor views and a chance to get some sun.
And for pizza lovers, get a free, small cheese pizza or house garlic bread when you buy a pie at Edgartown Pizza; get $2 off a large pizza or a small cheese pie for $5 at The Pizza Place; or get one free topping on small and large pizzas at the Fresh Pasta Shoppe.
