Bonnie Stacy is the new curator at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. David Nathans, executive director of the museum, announced Ms. Stacy’s appointment yesterday.

Ms. Stacy, according to Mr. Nathans, was most recently curator of collections and exhibitions at Historic Bethlehem Partnership in Pennsylvania. She also has experience at the Allentown Art Museum, Historic Hudson Valley, and she served as director/curator of the Tioga Point Museum in Athens, PA.

A Smith College art history and American studies undergraduate, and with a Bard Graduate Center masters in American decorative arts, Ms. Stacy’s education and professional collections management credentials are supplemented by great success in sourcing and securing grants from federal, state and local sources, Mr. Nathans said in the email message announcing that Ms. Stacy has begun work at the Island museum.

Dana Street, the museum’s retiring curator, will move to a part-time schedule as the library assistant.
