Edward Duart


Edward Duart, 61, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at his home in Carver. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Corcoran) Duart.

Born in Revere, the son of Grace (Ricciardello) Duart of Quincy and the late Herbert Duart, he lived in Quincy for many years before moving to Carver in 1983.

Mr. Duart was an ironworker and a member of Iron Workers Union Local No. 7 in Boston. He retired in 2007. In Carver, Mr. Duart coached youth sports including, baseball, boys and girls basketball and Plymouth Youth Hockey.

Known to his grandchildren as “Papa,” Mr. Duart enjoyed spending time with them and being an active part of their lives.

Survivors include his wife; his mother; his son, David E. Duart of Denver, CO; three daughters, Stacy Duart of Richmond, Va., Wendy G. Heckert of Boston, and Kimberly A. McTernan of Yongsan, South Korea; his sister, Louise Duart of Edgartown; four grandchildren, Erica Preus, Darren Preus, Thalia Heckert, and Edward Heckert.

Services will be private.
