Edward E. Cournoyer

Edward E. Cournoyer died on February 19 at his home in Harker Heights, Texas. He was born on Martha’s Vineyard on August 18, 1933, to Edward and Mary (Campos) Cournoyer.

Edward served 26 years in the U.S. Army, including three tours of duty in Vietnam, also receiving the bronze medal. After retiring he worked for 14 years in civil service. In 1957, he married Gail Reynolds of Ashland.

Survivors include his wife Gail; daughter Laurie Cournoyer of Denton, Texas; son Alan of New Harbor, Maine; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a sister, Jeane Pimental of Acushnet, and brothers: George of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Donald of Pelham, N.H.; and Frederick and Charles of Martha’s Vineyard. He was predeceased by his brother Francis of West Tisbury.

A memorial service will be held on the Vineyard at a later date.
