To the Editor:

Did you forget the annual Alzheimer’s Walk last Sunday? A lot of people remembered, more than 70 actually, the most ever. It was a beautiful day for a walk, and all ages participated, from six-year-olds Kayla DeBettencourt, Ruby Mercier and Kristin Perzanowski to 82-year-old Herb Foster. And a lot of middle-agers were there too, high school teens through people well into their sixties.Alzheimer’s is an incurable disease that strikes at random. Caregivers need our support. Sunday’s turnout did just that. We’d like to thank Reliable Market, Vineyard Bottled Water and Joyce for her pumpkin and cranberry bread. Much appreciated. For those who missed the walk, you may still contribute: Alzheimer’s Services, c/o box 749, Oak Bluffs, MA, 02557.

Many thanks for all who turned out, and to those who meant to.
