Eva L. Sashin, 84, died on May 4 at her home in Ormond Beach, Fla.
Eva was born on December 1, 1925 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, to Manuel and Maria Elvira. In 1983, Eva relocated to Volusia County from Ellenville, N.Y. She was a retired chief accountant with the New York school system, a parishioner at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Ormond Beach, and she enjoyed traveling, cooking, and playing bingo.
Eva is survived by her husband, Saul Sashin, of Ormond Beach; by three sons, Joseph Mazesky Jr. of Ormond Beach, Andrew Mazesky and his wife, Jane, of Ormond Beach, and Francis Mazesky and his wife, Barbara, of Orlando, Fla., and a daughter, Betty Trachtenberg, of Ormond Beach. Also by a step-son, Howard Sashin, and his wife, Cheryll, of Oak Bluffs; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Iris Torres, and her brother Rueben Elvira.
A Mass was celebrated on May 8 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Ormond Beach.
