Anne K. Russ of Vineyard Haven died peacefully at her home on August 11, 2010. She was 98 years of age.
Anne was born on November 19, 1911 in New York City and lived there until her teenage years when she moved to Dunellen, New Jersey. She has been living on Martha’s Vineyard since the 1980s.
She was the daughter of Theodore Petcoff and Katherine (Wermilinger) Petcoff. Anne married David George Russ some 40 years ago. He died in November of 1991.
Anne is survived by her cousin, Patricia Cashin of Brick, N.J., and by her caregiver, Margaret Signh.
A graveside service for the burial of her cremains will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, State Road, Vineyard Haven on Friday, Aug.20, at 11 am officiated by Rev. Arlene Bodge.
Donations may be made in her memory to M.V. Hospital, P.O. Box 1477 or to Hospice of M.V., P.O. Box 2549, both in Oak Bluffs, MA 02557.
