Anthony Holand, Tuck & Holand Gallery: I think my biggest risk was being willing to assume the entire responsibility for the business from Travis Tuck, who was my mentor and partner for the last five years of his life. He made it more like a culture than just a business, and had such a devoted following, I didn’t know if people would be willing to maintain their loyalties. It’s such a multifaceted job: Being an artist, a businessman, and a gallery manager. But I kept my head down, focused on the quality of the work, and for the past nine years, it has been a great success.
