Featherstone’s Art of Ceramic Bowls

0

Leave it to Featherstone Center for the arts to come up with the clever idea of combining the art of cooking with The Art of the Ceramic Bowl. This Sunday, August 29, from 4 to 6 pm, the art center is holding a potters’ opening with added benefits — a feast for the eyes and the stomach. All those who buy one of the bowls for $25, made by one the the Island’s ceramic artists, will then have it filled with homemade soup, served with Rickard’s bread and dessert — all of which is complimentary and meant to be enjoyed under the tent at Featherstone. Participating ceramicists include Nancy Blank, Scott Campbell, Helayne Cohen, Frank Creney, Frank Folts, Jr., Debbie Hale, John Robert Hill, Jennifer Rapuano, H. T. Langhammer, Washington Ledesma, Sarah Mayhew, Jennifer McCurdy, Carl Mueller, Amy Nevin, Bill O’Callaghan, Dan Parker. Laurie Schreiber, Micah Thanhauser. Proceeds from the sale of the bowls will be used to purchase a digital kiln for the Pottery Studio. Featherstone Center for the Arts, off Barnes Road, Oak Bluffs. 508-693-1850.
