Scott Blakeman: Political funny man performs at Grange

Scott Blakeman is a standup comic known for blending political humor with contemporary Jewish material. Based out of New York, Mr. Blakeman’s comedic credits are abundant and include regular appearances as a liberal expert on The Strategy Room at foxnews.com. The comedian was featured on the MSNBC live coverage of the 2010 White House Correspondents Dinner and hailed by NBC as “the top political comedian working in New York today.” The list continues with routines brought to international and national audiences alike, including appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland and the Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam.

He has been heard frequently on National Public Radio and currently tours the U.S. with Palestinian-American comedian Dean Obeidallah in Standup for Peace: The Two-Comedian Solution to the Middle East Peace. Mr. Blakeman is undoubtedly accomplished and certainly funny. He’ll perform at the Grange Hall in West Tisbury this Saturday, August 28 at 8 pm. This is Mr. Blakeman’s first appearance on the Island in a few years, though the comedian has visited the Vineyard in the past to perform at benefits, which included one for Featherstone Center for the Arts.
