School bells ring in a new academic year – school heads describe preparations

0

On Tuesday, approximately 2,237 students of all ages begin a new year in one of the seven schools of the Martha’s Vineyard school system. Pages 39 and 40 in today’s issue of The Times are devoted to Island schools and their leaders.

The Times invited the principals of each school and superintendent of schools James Weiss to describe each school’s readiness, important program or faculty changes, and individual goals for the school year.

Readers will also find a description of individual school enrollments, operating budgets, staff and contact information. It is information that Island students, parents, and taxpayers should find useful.
