To the Editor:
I would like to give a public “well done” to the group responsible for planning and implementing the reverse 911 system in Edgartown. Residents were kept up to the minute on the movements of Earl, the hurricane that toyed with us.
The first call gave us a much earlier time line for Earl’s arrival and instructions on when to be off the road and hunkering down in our own homes or in the available shelter. (Dogs accepted if in crates. How great is that!)When the timeline changed, we received a second call to bring us up to speed. That call was most appreciated and was good thinking.
Edgartown, thank you for an outstanding job. Well done on your first run with a new program.
