Culinary Experiences, a series of healthy eating courses with Jan Buhrman, continues this Monday, Sept. 20, with an Eating for Restorative Health class that includes dinner, from 5 to 8 pm. Next is a Raw Foods and Kombucha Lunch on Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 9 am to 12 noon. Last on the schedule for now, is Cheesemaking: American Artisan, on Monday, Oct. 4, from 9 am to 1 pm. Antiqued
Martha’s Vineyard Auctions hosts an Antique and Decorative Auction this Saturday, Sept. 18 at the American Legion Hall in Edgartown. The preview starts at 4 pm, the wine and cheese reception at 5 pm, and the auction begins at 6 pm.
Golden hummingbird returns
International shaman and healer Foster Perry, along with Kristos Tsompanelis, alchemical healer and medical intuitive, return to the Island for a series of healing workshops at the Wakeman Center in Vineyard Haven (off lower Lambert’s Cove).
They begin Friday, Sept. 17, with a Golden Hummingbird Shamanic Introduction from 7 to 9 pm with Mr. Perry. Cost is $40. On Saturday, from 10 am to 7 pm, is an Alchemical Healing Workshop with Mr. Tsompanelis ($250). Lastly, on Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm, is a Shamanic Intensive that includes personal healing work ($250). For more information, call Elaine at 774-563-0002.

Island musician Phil daRosa is performing at the Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs this Saturday, Sept. 18. Coinciding with Tivoli Day, the concert starts at 7 pm, and tickets are $15; $10 for seniors; $5 for children 12 and under; and $20 premium seating. Bluefish at Memorial Wharf
Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish return to Memorial Wharf in Edgartown (right next to the Chappy ferry) for a free concert this Saturday, Sept. 18. Bring the kids for an evening of dancing from 7 to 10 pm, and celebrate the approaching end of summer.
Casting call
Island Theatre Workshop (ITW) seeks actors, directors, and tech crew for its upcoming “Pick of the Crop” play festival. The festival will run Thursdays through Sundays, Oct. 21-31. Auditions are this Sunday, Sept. 19, from 1 to 4 pm at ITW’s Academy Hall, at 12 Music Street in West Tisbury. They are looking for actors and actresses between 25 and 60 years old in comedic and dramatic plays, and an experienced director for an original play by an established Island author.
