Daniel A. Garcia
Lorena Crespo and Marlon G. Garcia announce the birth of their son, Daniel Alejandro Garcia, on September 16 at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Daniel weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and he joins big brothers Mateo and Andres Garcia.
Corrick M. Slavin
Dardanella and Sean Slavin of Chilmark announce the birth of their son, Corrick McDonell Slavin, on September 27 at home. Corrick weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and he joins big brother Quinlan.
Adele W. Stearns
Alison and Scott Stearns of West Tisbury announce the birth of their daughter, Adele Winslow Stearns, on September 17 at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Adele weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and she joins big sister Freya.
Moses Y. Thomson
Rebekah and Joshua Thomson of Chilmark announce the birth of their son, Moses Yutaka Thomson, on September 26 at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Moses weighed 8 pounds, 5 pounds, and he joins big sister Leah Hiroko.
Wedding
Kristen L. Lollis and Brendon W. Bates were married at The Federated Church in Edgartown on Saturday, August 14, 2010. The Reverend Richard Fenn officiated the ceremony alongside The Reverend Jerry Fritz, pastor of the church.
The daughter of Stuart and Mary F. Lollis of Edgartown, the bride was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in New York City. She is the granddaughter of the late Morton and Mary S. Fearey of Edgartown, as well as Ruth H. Lollis of Vineyard Haven and the late Major General Shelton E. Lollis. The bridegroom is the son of William and Lynn E. Bates of Acton.
The bride and groom met in 2008 in Belize, where they served as volunteer teachers. Today, they live in Cambridge and continue to enjoy their teaching careers.

Michael Dello Russo of Oak Bluffs and Jeeranan Pasotakang of Burirum, Thailand were engaged June 11.A November wedding is planned.
Achievement
Dr. Michelle McCrumb of Heel & Sole Podiatry and Be Well Coaching recently attended a seminar called “Coaching in Medicine and Leadership” sponsored by Harvard Medical School. The seminar featured world renowned speakers, professors, and innovators in the emerging field of wellness medicine.
Joyce Bowker has been appointed to the advisory board of The Men’s Bereavement Group, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based on Martha’s Vineyard. Ms. Bowker is the director of the Martha’s Vineyard Up-Island Council on Aging and is certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide Health Insurance Counseling.
Julie Pringle of Tisbury has been designated an Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar with Distinction by the College Board’s AP Program. Now a freshman at Tufts University, Julie was recognized for her high scores on seven AP exams she completed while she was a student at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
