Too much spent campaigning

To the Editor:

I don’t know the answer to this, but perhaps youmay have the solution.

Does anyone know the total of all the money spenton all the election campaigns combined for this mid-termelection. Wouldn’t it be great if that money could go toeducation, infrastructure, medical research, the homeless, or even to study how and what it might take to return our unemployed and under-employed to sustainable jobs with a measure of security.

The amount spent on print, paper, TV, radio, and internet has to be exorbitant. Do we really get the best candidate for the buck? If anyone has a better idea how campaign financing could be done, would you please respond to this letter.
