Need an inexpensive holiday gift idea? There are a handful of places around the Island that can help with finding gifts under or around $20. Enjoy your holiday shopping with ease at these locations.

M.V. Heart in Vineyard Haven offers many stocking stuffers as well as fashionable items, fragrances, and lotions. Boutique owner Rob’n Mussell carries a variety of Avon products. You can find Avon Ice Sheers perfume ($12), Avon Candy Cane Shower Gel ($3.99), and Avon hand lotions as low as $1.25. As for the men, M.V. Heart now offers a men’s line with merchandise from Duofold, Champion, and Hanes that include thermals ($16), sweatshirts ($18), and tee-shirts ($12).

If you’re shopping for kids, the boutique carries many winter ear-flap hats ($14 to $18) and socks ($5 to $8), all in a variety of fun, bright colors. “I’m excited for the holiday season,” said Ms. Mussell. “Avon is so good for stocking stuffers, and a lot of the men come in for the lingerie for their wives or girlfriends.” M.V. Heart also offers new specials and sales every week.

Mix is located right next door, and also offers tons of gifts for everyone. If you’re looking for a simple pair of gloves for winter check out the Jeanne Simmons line ($18.95). Bead bracelets made in Guatemala ($12), ear phones in the shapes of peace signs, frogs, and pigs ($12.95), and handmade knit pincushions/sachets filled with lavender ($18.95) are also available.

Also on Main Street is a new store called the Stocking Stuffer (formerly Krista’s Gourmet and Vineyard Gourmet), run by the owners of Imagine, which carries handmade and fair-trade items. There, find African bead earrings by artists around the world ($8.99 to $14.99); Solmate Mismatched Socks ($18.99), handmade in Vermont; and nontoxic, water-based, nail polish ($8.99), all of which make great stocking stuffers. Check out the Zum Jujucuzzi Bath Salt Bar, natural, handmade shea butter bath salts ($12.99 for four scoops) that are available in different scents. The Stocking Stuffer closes in January, and will reopen in April as an organic juice and smoothie bar called Blissed-Out.

Imagine offers several simple holiday gifts, such as sun catchers ($19.99), soapstone carvings of animals ($8.99), and Make-a-Wish card necklaces ($14.99).

At Midnight Farm, there is a variety of gifts, including soap rocks ($11), mistletoe, red current spice, and other holiday scented candles ($.25 to $13), as well as Masala chai, and Burmese woods and honey scented Altru Incense ($17), abstract designed pot-holders ($12), and matching oven mits ($14).

If you’re in a search of a great book, Midnight Farm also has an array of titles, one in particular being “Writing From the Heart” by Nancy Slonim Aronie ($20). They also carry water and food bowls for pets ($17), Farmhouse Garden Apricot Jam ($11), Christmas ornaments ($8 to $20), and the Midnight Farm all-time favorite Mango-Lime Salsa ($16).

In Oak Bluffs, Sanctuary is known for its angelic and spiritual items. A popular ring is the Inspired Word Ring ($10.95) that are engraved with words such as believe, truth, peace, dream, and love. Word Mugs are also a popular choice ($12.95), as well as Austrian window crystals ($12 to $20), magnetic peace sign car magnets ($5.95 to $7.95), and glass Christmas ornaments ($4.95) in the shapes of seagulls, skunks, lobsters, and carousel horses. Sanctuary is also having a 15 percent off sale storewide through the end of December.

Rouge Luxe Apothecary, also in Oak Bluffs, specializes in luxury boutique items, but along their check-out counter are plenty of small gift ideas under $20, from lip gloss to toothbrushes. The wonderful smells upon opening the door make it worth the visit.
