Despite all temptations to spend Monday evening glued to a television set watching the New England Patriots destroy the New York Jets, the RCBL managed to field at least four teams with five or more players to fill all the slots for this week’s scheduled games.
In the first game of the twin bill the undefeated Bulls managed to keep its record clean — just — as James Rolston rolled in a layup with time expiring.
Final score: Bulls 101, Heat 100. Asil Cash, Brant Silvia, and Damon Mello did most of the damage for the Bulls, but game high honors went to Tim Scott whose 31 points included six buckets from beyond the arc.
The second game of the doubleheader belonged to the Suns, who burned the Lakers 97-89.
The Lakers also spread the wealth on offense. Jason O’ Donnell was the high scorer with 22 points.
RCBL standings: Bulls, 5-0; Heat, 2-3; Suns, 2-3; Lakers,1-4.
