Rollins runs to replace van for Boys & Girls Club

Greg Rollins, former director of the Boys and Girls Club, has a mission in mind as he trains to run in the annual Martha’s Vineyard 20-miler coming up on February 19. His goal is to raise as much money as possible toward the replacement of the aging van used by the Club to ferry children around, both on the Island and off.

“I am seeking people who are willing to make a pledge or sponsor me (regardless of the amount, no amount too small) with all the money designated to the van,” Mr. Rollins said in a recent email. He pointed out that hundreds of Island families have benefitted and will benefit from the club. In addition to placing collection cans on store counter tops between now race day, Mr. Rollins will be soliciting support in the lobby of the Edgartown Stop & Shop this Sunday, Feb. 6, and at down-Island Cronig’s on Saturday, Feb. 12.

Checks can be dropped off at the club in Edgartown, or sent to M.V. Boys & Girls Club, P.O. Box 654, Edgartown, MA 02539.
