To the Editor:
In any civic endeavor, dynamic tension is an important component of a successful project. The input from all of the responsible parties is valuable. None of the entities involved in the design of the proposed new Edgartown library is a rubber stamp organization. Each has distinct responsibilities and some that overlap. This is a process, not a contest. Everyone benefits from a job ultimately well done.
We suggest the press put aside the eagerness for mid-winter folly and instead encourage participation at the public forums like the one held on January 19, to achieve a new library of which we can all be proud.
