Alden “Onnie” Gray of Barnstable died at his home with his family near on Sunday, February 13, 2011.

He was born in Waltham to Harriet and Clarence Gray. Onnie served in the Navy during WWII. He and his loving wife, Jean Berry Gray, were married in 1950 and were blessed with three children.

During his career Alden worked as a machinist in both Watertown Arsenal and Picatinny Arsenal. In recent years he and his wife have enjoyed retirement on the Cape and in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Gray, their three children, Bob, Gary and Nancy, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Several live on Martha’s Vineyard.

Funeral services were held on February 18, followed by interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Cape Cod, 434 Route 134, Suite G-1, South Dennis, MA 02660.
