Jon Lipsky of West Tisbury, artistic associate at The Vineyard Playhouse and a professor of playwriting and acting at Boston University for 28 years, died Saturday morning, March 19 of carcinoid, a rare cancer. He was 66.
A funeral service was held at 11 am, Monday, March 21, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center, at 130 Center Street in Vineyard Haven.
“He held out for as long as he could, brave to the end,” friend Arnie Reisman wrote in an email to The Times, announcing the service information. “He was truly an original and he will be sorely missed. But we will all continue to love him and remember him as the incredible and influential presence that he was and is.”
