Doris Paris Wheaton, 80, of Montclair, N.J. and Oak Bluffs, died at home Thursday, February 17, 2011. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Martin’s Home for Service, Inc., 48 Elm St., Montclair, NJ, at 11 am.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Doris moved to New Jersey after high school, where she was loved and guided by her “Aunt” Pearl Baker Moore. Doris graduated from Kean College and taught in the Montclair public school system for over 20 years.Doris was an avid golfer and a member of both the Garden State Dufferettes Golf Club and Mink Meadows Golf Club of Martha’s Vineyard.
Doris was the beloved wife of J. Hayward Wheaton, the loving mother of Marcelle White of Reston, Virginia, and the proud grandmother of Jason and Lauren Arcudi. She is also survived by her dear brother, Calvin R. Paris of Del Ray Beach, Fla., two nephews, and two nieces. She will be deeply missed by all.
